Parts 1 and 2 of a seven week traveling journey through Alaska with my backpack. Beginning on the ferry from Washington and going through the "Inside Passage" of southeast Alaska; then from Skagway on the White Pass Railroad and bus through Whitehorse, Yukon to Tok, Alaska; then hitchhiking to McCarthy for a backpack trip to Root Glacier in the Wrangell-St. Elias N.P. Continuing on with hitchhiking to Valdez, a ferry to Whittier, on through Anchorage and into Denali National Park for a wilderness meditation.

“A Breath of Nature”

Soaring turkey vultures, osprey, lizards and a black bear show us the animal world, while the free flowing river, drifting clouds and swaying trees speak of the gentle movements in nature. “El Sabor de Puerto”
The sometimes sleepy town of Puerto Escondido, on the far southern coast of Mexico in the state of Oaxaca, comes alive with the traditional open air market, colorful buildings, white sand beaches and clear blue water. Take a journey into the jungle up to the La Cascada waterfall, then see the famous Playa Zicatela, known as the “Mexican Pipeline” for its incredible big wave surfing. Set to the moving instrumental guitar work of Argentina’s’ Atahualpa Yupanqui and also The Gipsy Kings.
